Prof. Ramesh S. Chaughule completed his PhD at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India, a premier and pioneering research institute. He also holds a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences and serves as a member of its Executive Committee.
At present, he is an Adjunct Professor at RamnarainRuia Autonomous College, Mumbai, where he guides PhD scholars in their research programs.
Prof.Chaughule has made pioneering contributions to the fields of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Nanotechnology. His early research publications include in vitro studies on malignant samples using a self-developed pulsed NMR spectrometer, carried out in collaboration with the Cancer Research Institute and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
He has been deputed to Indonesia by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) multiple times as an NMR expert. He has also been awarded numerous international fellowships to conduct research programs in various countries. He has served as a guest scientist at several universities in the USA, UK, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, and Indonesia.
In addition to numerous research publications and book chapters, Prof.Chaughule has edited 11 books on MRI and Nanotechnology, published by American Scientific Publishers, Springer Nature, and Taylor & Francis. He has authored more than 125 publications, including several book chapters, spanning the fields of NMR, MRI, biomaterials, medicine, and nanotechnology.
His research interests span nanocomposites, nanomedicine, drug delivery systems, sustainable agriculture through nanotechnology, cancer research, food packaging, and bioplastics. He has organized several international conferences in India and has served on numerous academic and educational committees, including those of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences.
